Welcome new patients and updates
We have been working hard at trying to determine the right balance of patients and providers to still provide the best quality care and accessibility. For a short while we closed the practice to new patients until we were certain we could maintain that balance. My desire in starting this clinic was to be sure our patients had a personal relationship with all the staff, that a person answers the phone, and that if a patient is sick that we can accommodate same day appointments.
The best business decision would be to just accept everyone that calls, but to maintain our mission that is just not possible, so here is our plan.
We are working on expanding our space to provide a larger waiting room and add additional examination rooms as well. This won’t be available until February according to the last projection. We will also be looking to bring in another provider to help maintain same day access. Karen will continue part-time Monday, Wednesday and Fridays so that she will have more time with her family. We are currently searching for another provider to complete the clinic expansion but will be very picky in who we hire so this may take some time.
We will resume taking new patients for Karen’s practice and I will be taking only one a week as available because our current patients are our greatest priority. We still keep open appointments daily to provide same day service so that our patients won’t have to rely on the newest doc-in-a-box mini clinics around town and in pharmacies. We’ve heard numerous complaints about the care provided in these mini clinics and honestly you just shouldn’t have to worry about that.
If you have immediate family that needs a Doctor or provider, please keep us in mind. Family Practice is all about caring for the family’s needs. It’s amazing what you learn about a patient from family members that can strongly impact the quality of care for all involved.
Thank you to all our current patients for your trust and confidence in us. We all strive to provide the best possible clinical experience for you with the latest innovations and it’s all provided by people that really care about you. We also rely primarily on word of mouth for our growth and appreciate your good words to friends and family. Feedback and critiques are always welcome too.
Thank you to everyone for a wonderful year and have a Merry Christmas!
Sincerely,
John Millspaugh, MD
